Ministry follow-up report: Trap turns into a Blessing

A few years ago, Messianic Rabbi Zev Porat shared the Gospel of salvation with an Orthodox Jew named David. Recently, David called and asked for a meeting. After praying, Zev went to meet David.

As soon as David saw Zev, he very angrily said: “You tried to convert me to a Gentile, and rabbis say a Jew needs to read the Talmud.” (The Talmud is the central text of Rabbinic Judaism.)

Zev felt that David came to persecute him but that he needed the love of God. Zev immediately prayed to himself that the devil has no power over David in the name of Yeshua

Romans 8:31 –
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Zev sat down with David and said with love and compassion: “God doesn’t want us to argue. Do not let the enemy use you against me.” Zev asked him to calm down and sit. Zev told David that God loves him and He wants us to read His Word.

Zev asked David: “Who was the wisest of all mankind?” David answered: “King Solomon.” Zev: “Smarter than any rabbis who teach Talmud?” “Yes,” replied David. Zev: “Let’s read what the smartest of all men have to say.”

Ecclesiastes 12:11-14
11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails-given by one shepherd.12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments for this is the duty of all mankind. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

Messianic Rabbi Zev Porat with David. Glory to Yeshua.

After reading, Zev said: “By your own testimony, you just discredited the Talmud and the rabbis, in fact the Word of God does it.”

Zev explained to David that the Israelites were freed from bondage by the blood of the Passover lamb on the lintel and the doorposts. Without that blood the Israelites would not be set free. In the same way, salvation is only through the blood of Messiah. This is the ONLY way to the Father (God).

Zev read many Biblical passages to David, such as Isaiah 53, Psalm 2 and so on. Suddenly, something happened that David, who had been so very angry, became quiet. The Holy Spirit was in full charge.

Zev felt it was time to share the full Gospel of Yeshua. After hearing the full Gospel, David felt guilty and told Zev that he needs to grasp what the Bible says.

It was a beautiful day and the Holy Spirit was working in the area where Zev and David sat. We pray that David will receive Yeshua as the Messiah.

Genesis 50:20 –
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Let’s stand together in this End Times to bring the Gospel back to Jerusalem. May Father’s will be done. Amen.
